Dennis Quaid settles with hospital over babies' overdose

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to pay damages

Dennis and Kimberley Quaid
Dennis and Kimberly Quaid say the blunder was completely avoidable

Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly will receive £400,000 from the hospital that gave his newborn twins an overdose of a blood thinner.

Thomas Boone
and Zoe Grace were accidentally given the drug Heparin at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA last November.

The babies, who were left battling for their lives in intensive care, have now recovered.

‘The settlement is the result of extensive negotiations between the parties and their respective legal representatives, and is intended to avoid the time, expense and uncertainty of litigation,’ say papers filed in LA Superior Court on Monday.

The agreement is pending the approval of an LA judge.

Dennis
, 54, and Kimberly have also filed a lawsuit against Heparin's drug maker Baxter Healthcare Corp.

A lawyer for the couple declined to comment.
