Leona Lewis named America's Top New Artist

She beats fellow singer Jordin Sparks

Leona Lewis topped the UK singles chart on Sunday with Run

Leona Lewis has been crowned Top New Artist of the year by a influential US music magazine.

The singer pipped fellow reality show winner Jordin Sparks, 18, to take the Billboard title.

‘I’m just enjoying everything,’ she tells The Sun.

‘I got a fantastic opportunity and so far it’s been going really well.’

Leona, 23, has also been nominated for three Grammy Awards – Record Of The Year, Best Pop Album and Best Pop Vocal Performance.
