Jenna-Louise Coleman's harrowing scenes, set over one night, will be shown over a week in December

Emmerdale’s Jasmine Thomas is caught out searching her police officer boyfriend's flat – and in the angry scenes that follow he attacks her viciously.

The reporter – played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, 22 – breaks into the home of cop Shane Doyle (Paul McEwan) to search for evidence he’s been taking bribes from drug dealers.

But things turn nasty when he catches her in the act.

Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) rushes to save her friend and hits Shane over the head, almost killing him.

‘They are going to be harrowing scenes,’ an insider tells The Sun. ‘Shane’s life hangs in the balance and the storyline will take lots of twists and turns.’

The episodes will be aired on 1-5 December on ITV1.
