Sharon Stone has lost a custody battle with her ex-husband who she divorced in 2004.
Her adopted son Roan Joseph Bronstein will now live permanently with Phil Bronstein, 57, at his San Francisco home.
In October, the couple were granted joint custody, but now a judge has decided the 8-year-old's routine would be disrupted if he kept moving between them.
'Bronstein can provide a more structured continuity, stable, secure and consistent home that child, Roan, needs,' the San Francisco Superior Court ruled earlier this month.
Sharon, 51, who will still be consulted on Roan's schooling and medical treatment and will have regular access to him, has 10 days to appeal the decision.
She has two other adopted sons - Laird Vonne, 3, and Quinn Kelly, 2.
