Russell Tovey to be next Doctor Who?

Russell T Davies impressed with History Boys actor

Russell Tovey has also starred in BBC hit comedy Gavin & Stacey

Russell Tovey could be set to replace David Tennant as Doctor Who.

Producer Russell T Davies, 45, believes The History Boys actor would be the perfect fit to play the Time Lord.

‘He's going to be huge, that man,’ he writes in a series of published emails. ‘He's amazing. I think I'd make him the 11th Doctor.’

Russell, 26, impressed show bosses when he appeared in last year's Christmas episode alongside Kylie Minogue, 40.

He has also starred in hit BBC comedy Gavin & Stacey.
