Actor hits out at his supposed failure
Saturday, 18 October 2008
Kevin Costner is angry that he’s perceived as having 'fallen from grace' in Hollywood just because some of his films have flopped.
The actor - who starred in Oscar-winner Dances With Wolves - sticks up for movies such as Wyatt Earp and Waterworld, which didn't enjoy the same kind of box office success.
Kevin thinks Hollywood has a twisted attitude to fame.
‘You can be popular now, in this world, for getting cum on your dress,’ he says.
‘Fame is not a cultural achievement. It’s just a sign of our times. And if you’re not famous, are you a failure?’
Kevin, 53, also accuses Tinseltown of being fickle and cruel.
‘I think there’s a whole world that wants to laugh at someone who’s been successful, and had perceived failure,’ he tells The Sunday Times Magazine.
‘I have different criteria on what constitutes a success.’

I say Karma is Kevin's worst enemy. There's a reason he's a joke in Hollywood.
If he's a joke, he's laughing all the way to the bank. This is a man who has raised his children with values, education, honesty and sound ethics. This, to me is a huge success in any lifestyle, but to keep them all grounded and real in the chaos that surrounds him, is astounding and deserves a standing ovation at the least. There are many measures to a man and to success. He has had success as an actor, director, producer, singer/songwriter, but at the end of the day, he's a success as a man, the rest is bankable, but just the packaging. The heart and kindness is my ruler for success. I guess I'm a joke too....cause I'm laughing. Have a great day and by the way, I'm sure the new CD will be super. I have their first 4 track and these 4 songs are part of the 12 on the full CD, so Nov.11 can't come soon enough for me...I want the other eight... Sandy.
