Actor says it helped his co-star’s concentration

Gary Oldman says Sean Penn used to stub out fags on his skin to help him concentrate on a scene.
The Dark Knight star, 50, witnessed 47-year-old Sean’s bizarre methods when he worked with him on State of Grace in 1990.
‘There was one actor I worked with who used to burn his leg with cigarettes,’ he reveals. ‘Let’s just call him Sean Penn.’
But Gary admits he too found it hard to stay focussed during filming for the new Batman movie.
‘It was a great set but sometimes we had to pull ourselves together,’ he tells Metro.
‘I’d be doing a serious scene, thinking: “Don’t laugh.”’
The Dark Knight has already broken box-office records in the US and is released in the UK on Thursday.
