Darren Day denies drink driving charges
Darren Day pleaded not guilty to drink driving charges at Cardiff Magistrates Court yesterday.
The TV star was pulled over by police in Cardiff on 18 June when they allegedly saw him jump a red light in his Mercedes.
The breathalyser failed 3 times at the roadside, so he was taken to the police station for a further test – which showed he was almost twice the legal limit.
Darren, 40, denies being drunk, claiming there were ‘issues’ with the breathalyser.
His solicitor Jenny Kumeta also questioned the police account of his driving.
‘He had been in the car no more than 20 seconds with the engine on when called over,’ she told the court.
Darren is due back in court on 27 August.
