Actress calls time on their rocky relationship

Split: Anne Hathaway and Raffaello Follieri

Anne Hathaway has broken up with her Italian boyfriend Raffaello Follieri.

The actress, 25, ended her 4-year relationship with the 29-year-old over the weekend.

'They are always breaking up and getting back together, so the fact they broke up this time around doesn't strike me as anything new,' a source tells People.

'They are passionate people - and just like any relationship, people get together, break up and get back together again.'

The split comes after it was reported Raffaello's charity, the Follieri Foundation, was under investigation by the New York State Attorney General's Office.

Anne’s new film Get Smart opens in US cinemas tomorrow.
