Alicia Keys: I'd like to adopt a child

Singer admires how Angelina Jolie has helped children from around the world

Alicia Keys says she thinks adoption is important to consider

Alicia Keys has said that when she wants to become a parent she'll think about adopting a child.

‘I think that it is truly important to consider,’ she says.

The singer says she admires actress Angelina Jolie, 33, who has adopted children Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3. She also has natural daughter Shiloh, 2, and is pregnant with twins by partner Brad Pitt, 44.

‘It's beautiful the way that she embraces children of the world,’ she tells People.

Alicia, 28, was inspired after attended the screening of We Are Together last week. The documentary follows the children of the Agape orphanage in South Africa.

‘They are such a beautiful, beautiful group of children,’ she says. ‘They've been through so much. But they are so bright and resilient and hopeful.’
