David Beckham's team LA Galaxy took on the Colorado Rapids on Saturday

David Beckham was left shaken when a fan rushed onto the pitch to touch him during an LA Galaxy match.

The mystery man attempted to greet his idol during his team's clash with Colorado Rapids in Hollywood on Saturday.

But the over-excited spectator was floored by David's teammate Chris Klein, 32.

David, 33, admits he was scared by the incident.

‘I was concerned as he wasn’t smiling at me and he wasn’t wearing a Galaxy shirt,’ David tells the LA Times.

"So I didn't know if he was going to come and give me a hug or something else.

‘Luckily, he was just going to give me a high-five.’

The fan was marched off the pitch and given a lifetime ban.
