The country star opens up to fans about her "rough time" after her split from her husband
Saturday, 26 July 2008
Shania Twain is opening up to fans for the first time about her "broken heart" after splitting from her husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange, last year after 14 years of marriage.
"As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life," the country star writes in a message to fans posted on her Web site Thursday. "I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life."
Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, who have a 6-year-old son, announced their separation last month. Sources tell PEOPLE that Lange's relationship with another women, Twain's close friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud, was the reason behind the split. Both Lange and Thiébaud have denied an affair.
"I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music," continues Twain. "This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.
“I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever. Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart."

I really feel for her situation. The two people she thought she could trust, ended up hurting her. Mutt Lange and the other woman may have denied any romantic involvement, but I believe everything that's been reported is true, because Shania would have otherwise defended those allegations as she wouldn't allow the media to trash his name, after all he's the father of her son, Eja D'Angelo, 6, almost 7. Shania and Mutt did lead a reclusive lifestyle and were rarely photographed together, but their creative collaboration was one of a kind and it's sad to see it over for good as she might co-produce herself or find a new producer (she quotes "begin this new journey"), it could arguably be her best work yet. Like a lot of other fans, I'm thrilled she's coming back. Since the split, I heard she hasn't put down her guitar. Although she generally likes her music to be positive and uplifting it's only natural it will be more sombre this time, but we don't mind, she has chosen to pour that side of her heart out. Hi Chris, This article (posted on July 26) states they split last year, I know we discussed it before, but other sources imply they didn't call it quits until a month before the news broke. So their divorce may not take as long as anticipated and have worked out many things behind closed doors. That brings me to a question, will a CD surface in the Fall, as some reports suggest that it still might.
the ONLY reason Eileen Lange aka "Shania" is a sucess is because of Jeff "Mutt" Lange...she is not very talented....
M- she is very talented and she is one of country's best. Mutt is a good writer but she is a great singer and there are a lot of great writers she can collaborate with Mutt is a bastard! she is beautifull and she will get thru this she is a strong women and has her support from family and friends support is the best thing in times of troubles. shania we can't wait to hear your album i know it will be froom the heart and your fans are here and will support you all the way...you are an inspiration to many and keep your head held high...you amazing!
