Ray Winstone: I get a nosebleed when I think about the gym

Actor had to get in shape for his latest role

Ray Winstone did loads of exercise

Ray Winstone had to confront his fear of exercise and work out for his latest film.

The actor stars as adventurer Mac in Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.

‘I get a nosebleed every time I think about going to the gym,’ he says.

‘So I never go, but yeah, I had to get into shape for this film.

'I went running and did loads of exercise.’

But Ray, 51, almost didn’t take the part because he feared it would only be a small role.

‘I knew it was going to be good but I wanted to know what I would be doing,’ he tells the Sunday People.

‘I wanted to see it on paper. I wanted to see the script and make sure I was in it.

‘If you’re going to be in Indiana Jones you want to be in it – it’s no good being cannon fodder.’
