Hilary Swank is getting into shape for her new role

Hilary Swank is so dedicated to her new film role that she's taken to the skies.

The actress has just started work on a biopic of famous aviator Amelia Earhart.

So she is training at Santa Monica Airport to earn her pilot's licence.

And it's not the only preparation she's doing for the flick. Hilary, 33, is said to be hitting Exhale, a Santa Monica gym, several times a week for a 60-minute workout that involves Pilates, yoga and ballet.

'She's just thrown herself into the workouts,' a source tells E! News.

'Her stomach's taut, her butt's firm and high, all that stuff.

'But she looks very petite and feminine. She's never looked better.'
