Blake Fielder-Civil's dad Lance paralysed in hospital after freak accident

Amy Winehouse and husband Blake Fielder-Civil are distraught

Amy Winehouse is said to be devastated after her father-in-law was involved in a cycling accident that has left him paralysed.

Blake Fielder-Civil’s dad Lance was out circuit training when he flipped over over the handlebars into a ditch – where he lay unnoticed for 3 hours. He has suffered head and spinal injuries.

The ordeal has been made even worse for Blake, 26, as he's being held on remand at London's Pentonville Prison and cannot visit his father.

Lance, 67, is being treated at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre after having surgery on his spine.

‘At the moment he’s paralysed but it’s too early to say if he will be permanently paralysed,’ his wife Jane tells The Daily Star.

It is not known if Amy, 24, has visited.
