Ashlee Simpson gets engaged to Pete Wentz

Singer confirms engagement but stays tight-lipped on pregnancy rumours

Ashlee Simpson has announced that she will marry long-term boyfriend Pete Wentz.

The singer and the Fall Out Boy bassist, 28, have been together since 2006, when they were first spotted together in a New York nightclub.

‘We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best,’ Ashlee, 23, says in a post on friendsorenemies.com.

‘We are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged.’

A rep for Ashlee has refused to comment on rumours that she's pregnant, reports Us Weekly.
