Nicollette Sheridan: Michael Bolton cured me

Desperate Housewives' Edie and her fiancé believe a profound love never goes away

Nicollette Sheridan lives in LA and fiancé Michael Bolton's home is on America's East Coast but they got together at Christmas for a break in the French West Indies.

The Desperate Housewives star first dated Michael for 18 months in 1993 so this is love the second time around for them after an email friendship kept the link going.

'We had an ongoing Scrabble tournament by email for close on 2 decades, ' says Nicollette, 44. 'I won the last 5 games in a row.'

She believes 'the universe truly conspired' in getting them back together and Michael reckons 'when the love is deep, the connection never really goes away'.

Theirs is a romantic story that will inspire many.

The loved-up pair sing together on 54-year-old Michael's platinum-selling album Bolton Swings Sinatra and Nicollette is grateful to him for proving to her she does have a good voice.

'My mother said I couldn't sing, so I chose to believe that,' she tells You magazine. 'It was Michael who lured me out of my shell. He cured me.'
