Matthew McConaughey injured while preparing for movie

Actor needs stitches after accident

Matthew McConaughey has been hurt while getting in shape for his new movie.

The actor, 38, needed stitches after cutting his face in gym training.

In his new comedy The Grackle, Matt – who was spotted yesterday with bandages over his left eye - plays a heavy-for-hire. But as he attempted to beef up for the role, Matt injured himself.

‘Matthew was doing training, based on the principles of the Ultimate Fighting Championships, when he suffered a cut face which required medical treatment and stitches,’ his rep tells Variety.
