Sting: I quit coke for my sinuses

Singer says drug didn’t get into his system because nose was blocked

Sting

Pop legend Sting reveals he quit cocaine because it blocked up his sinuses.

And the 55-year-old is grateful – his blocked nose meant he didn’t get hooked to the drug.

‘Cocaine is horrible,’ he says. ‘It makes you feel uncomfortable in your skin. I was lucky I couldn't get much of it into my system because it always blocked up my sinuses.’

The Police frontman kicked the habit with some spiritual help.

‘I realised taking it was so stupid some time after we recorded Ghost In The Machine,’ he tells the Daily Record.

‘I did it one last time, said a kind of ritual incantation and got rid of the rest.’
