Daniel Radcliffe: I fancy older girls

Harry Potter actor says the babes he likes aren't interested in a boy wizard

With his new six-pack and a leading role in West End show Equus, Daniel Radcliffe is definitely looking hot.

(He's also a very rich teenager with an estimated bank balance of £20millon.)

There's no shortage of young female fans hanging outside the stage door hoping to touch him, but the teenager - who reckons he's had two serious girlfriends – admits he likes slightly more mature dates.

'I’m more comfortable with people who are a bit older, especially older girls, which is a real curse, because they are not interested in a younger guy,' he reveals.

Nevertheless, Daniel's very happy to be adored. 'I’m 17, and as long as girls are interested in me, that’s fantastic,' he tells The Times.

There's no doubt about that. Dan didn't have to develop his muscles to start attracting the opposite sex.

Besotted fans have tried to climb into his car at traffic lights and six years ago, when he was promoting the first Harry Potter film in America, he found a girl waiting in his room dressed only in a towel.

‘I was about 11 when that happened,' he tells The Observer. 'I didn’t know what to do with myself. I was just discovering what everything was! That was really cool actually. I wish that would happen again. As I remember, she was very attractive. I’d be up for something now!

'Somebody said to me the other day, "Do you ever worry that girls are just giving you attention because of who you are?" I was like, "I’m 17, I don’t care! It’s wonderful!"’
