Actor is up for best actor award

Among the Golden Globes nominees announced Thursday, two actors are already winners: Leonardo DiCaprio, who scored best actor in a drama nods for both Blood Diamond and The Departed, and Jennifer Hudson, nominated for best supporting actress in her big-screen debut, Dreamgirls.
"I'm overwhelmed right now," Hudson said on the Today show immediately after the nominations were announced. "I just started screaming when they said the names."
Dreamgirls racked up multiple nominations, including a best actress, musical or comedy, nod for star Beyoncé Knowles and a supporting actor nomination for Eddie Murphy. Shut out was writer-director Bill Condon.
Another big winner was Babel, which led the field with seven nominations, including best supporting actor for Brad Pitt and best director for Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
DiCaprio isn't the only nominee who will be competing against himself: Clint Eastwood is up for best director for two of his movies, the World War I dramas Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima.
Besides Eastwood and Inarritu, the director nominees are Stephen Frears for The Queen and perennial Oscar bridesmaid Martin Scorsese for The Departed.
The other dramatic actor nominees are Peter O'Toole in Venus, Will Smith in The Pursuit of Happyness and Forest Whitaker in The Last King of Scotland.
Comedy/musical actor nominees are Sacha Baron Cohen in Borat; Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest; Aaron Eckhart, Thank You for Smoking; Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kinky Boots; and Will Ferrell, Stranger Than Fiction.
Actress nominees, for movie dramas, are Penelope Cruz in Volver; Judi Dench, Notes on a Scandal; Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sherrybaby; Helen Mirren, The Queen; and Kate Winslet, Little Children.
Comedy/musical actress nominees include Knowles in Dreamgirls; Annette Bening, Running With Scissors; Toni Collette, Little Miss Sunshine; Meryl Streep The Devil Wears Prada; and Rene Zellweger Miss Potter.
Besides Murphy and Pitt, other supporting actor nominees include Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg (The Departed) and Ben Affleck (Hollywoodland).
In addition to Hudson, supporting actress nominees are Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi, in Babel; Cate Blanchett, Notes on a Scandal; and Emily Blunt, The Devil Wears Prada.
For best dramatic picture, the nominees are Babel, Bobby, The Departed, Little Children and The Queen. For musical and/or comedy: Borat, The Devil Wears Prada, Dreamgirls, Little Miss Sunshine and Thank You For Smoking.
The 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC on Monday, Jan. 15.
