Owen Wilson chills with Kate Hudson – and son

The You, Me and Dupree stars get closer

As Kate Hudson tries, in the words of a friend, to "figure out her life," Owen Wilson remains a presence in it.

Last Friday, the You, Me and Dupree costars enjoyed a breakfast together of egg-and-tofu scramble and blue-corn banana pancakes at A Votre Santé, an organic restaurant in the Brentwood neighborhood of L.A. The next day, Wilson was seen playing catch with Hudson's 2-year-old son Ryder on the front lawn of her Pacific Palisades home.

Hudson, who recently split from her rock-star husband, Chris Robinson, "is trying to figure out her life," says a source. "She is also trying to have a great time."

Wilson, 37, and Hudson, 27, have been frequent companions for the past several months. During the summer they were seen with friends at L.A. hot spots Hyde Lounge and Tropicana Bar. They were also both spotted in Hawaii, with Wilson staying at a home near where Hudson and Ryder were vacationing. At a dinner in Hawaii with friends, "the electricity was palpable," an onlooker told PEOPLE at the time.

The pair stepped out together last month, too, at one point sharing a patio booth at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel.

After nearly six years of marriage, Hudson split from Robinson, 39, in August.
She has yet to file for divorce.
