Prince William was just 15 when the world saw him lose his mother Princess Diana.

And last year, in a rare insight into his grief, Prince William admitted that he'd missed his mum most on the day he married wife Kate Middleton, saying: 'It was the one time since she's died where I thought to myself that it'd be fantastic if she was here.'

So understandably, now, as he prepares to celebrate another major milestone in his life with the arrival of his first child, 30-year-old Wills is feeling his mother's absence more than ever.

It's for this reason that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have come up with a way to ensure they remember Diana ahead of the birth.

The couple are planning a baby shower at Kensington Palace on Sunday 30 June - significantly, the day before what would've been Diana's birthday.

The gathering will be for a few friends and some of the young Royals, including William's brother Harry, cousins Beatrice and Eugenie and Kate's younger sister Pippa and brother James Middleton.
