One Direction jetted off to Ghana at the weekend to film a segment for Comic Relief.

The boys flew into the country's capital Accra on Saturday to meet poverty-stricken locals who are helped by the charity's work.

'Today was the most amazing day I've had so far.. In my life ever,' Tweeted Harry Styles, 18.

Liam Payne, 19, wrote: 'Having the most amazing few days of my life !'

Harry, Liam, Zayn Malik, 20, Louis Tomlinson, 21, and Niall Horan, 19, have recorded a cover of Blondie's One Way Or Another for Comic Relief, which will be be accompanied by a video of their visit to Ghana.

Irish member Niall seems to have been particularly moved by the trip.

'I've seen the slums right in front of me! This is no joke! They really need your help! Poverty is real!' he Tweeted.

'Massive thanks to @rednoseday for taking us to Ghana! It was incredible! real eye opener! We take so much for granted over here !'
