Sheridan Smith has won 2 Olivier Awards

Sheridan Smith braved a very raunchy scene on the set of her new film Hysteria.

The actress had to simulate a 3-minute orgasm in the flick about a doctor who unwittingly invents the vibrator in the name of medical science.

'I didn't have a stopwatch, but it's quite long,' says Sheridan, 31.

'I had Rupert Everett and Hugh Dancy between my legs, holding this father duster. I mean, it could have been so mortifying. But luckily, it was such a laugh.'

Hysteria is one of two films released next month which stars Sheridan, who earlier this year won her second Olivier Award for her work on West End show Flare Path.

But her life hasn't always been so glamorous - when she first moved to London at the age of 16 to play gangster's mole Tallulah in Bugsy Malone, she lived in a flat with four boys and S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt.

'We literally just lived on jam sandwiches,' Sheridan tells The Sunday Times Culture.

'We had this one big pink brick phone between us all, and the telephone box at the end of the road to ring our parents.'
