Kate Middleton didn't try to snare Prince William at university - she was into a guy called Harry!
The friend studied with Kate, 30, in Florence as part of their course at the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, but can't recall Wills' future wife ever mentioning him.
‘The only time I even remember talking about William was when we found out he was coming to study in Florence,' says the pal.
‘We would speculate about hanging out with him, but to be honest she never showed any interest in him or talked about him that much.
‘She certainly wasn't going to St Andrews with the intention to snare him or anything like that. In fact she was more hung up on a guy called Harry, but things didn't work out.'
Kate, who married William in April 2011, wasn't short of male attention but found the charming Italians easy to resist.
‘Italian men can be quite persuasive, but Catherine would never overreact to compliments,' the source reveals.
‘She definitely was not a giggly sort of girl batting her eyelashes!'
