Emma Watson: I used to get the bus but now I get mobbed everywhere
Emma Watson has had to accept that her life has changed forever.
In her early teens, the actress used to get the bus from Oxford to London despite her growing fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies.
But now she gets recognised in most places and needs protection.
‘If I went somewhere busy, I wouldn't last very long,' says Emma, 22.
‘I can't go to a museum, I'll last 10 or 15 minutes in a museum. The problem is that when one person asks for a photograph, then someone sees a flash goes off, then everyone else sort of... it's sort of like a domino effect.
‘And then very quickly the situation starts to get out of control to a point where I can't manage it on my own.'
Emma has always attempted to lead as normal a life as possible, heading to Brown University in the US to complete the first 2 years of her degree followed by a year at Oxford.
But the star admits that the course structure combined with her commitment to the Harry Potter franchise made it hard to fit in and make friends.
‘At Brown everyone does completely different things and very much chooses their own path, which is great,' Emma tells T Magazine.
‘But it's also much more difficult, too. You're not with a group of people all the time at one time.'
