One Direction are recording their second album

One Direction are reportedly set to perform in an extravagant show at the Olympics Closing Ceremony this Sunday.

It's thought that the boys will be driven around Stratford's Olympic Stadium on a carnival truck as they belt out debut single What Makes You Beautiful to millions of viewers around the world.

'It's all hush-hush and the boys have been sworn to secrecy,' a source tells the Daily Mirror.

'But they've been at rehearsals and can't wait to do their bit. It will be an unforgettable occasion and they feel privileged to be a part of it.'

1D are rumoured to be joining some of Britain's biggest-selling music artists at the ceremony, including the Spice Girls, The Who and the Pet Shop Boys.

Muse have already confirmed that they'll be making an appearance to sing the official Olympics track Survival.

'I'm happy with the song. It's a proper Muse song,' drummer Dom Howard tells NME.

'It's not something we just did for the Olympics. They sowed a seed by asking us to do some music but then five months went by.

'We showed them a few songs when they asked us about [playing the] Closing Ceremony and they loved it. It represented the enormous competition of what the Olympics is.'
