Joey Essex tells Dan Wootton: I'm skinny like my mum was but don't call me anorexic
In a little over a year, Joey Essex has become a celebrity sensation, captivating us all with his beyond-tight jeans, catchphrases like 'reem' and his on/off relationship with TOWIE co-star Sam Faiers, 21.
But with the overnight fame there's been a dark side.
The 21-year-old's still shaken after being mugged in broad daylight, he's been dogged by constant rumours that he's a love cheat and internet trolls have even suggested he might be anorexic.
Joey doesn't have an eating disorder, but does admit he's on a special diet.
'I don't even eat bread now - I eat fish instead,' the Chigwell star tells Dan Wootton.
'I don't want to get to 30 and have to cut out bad foods because I've put on weight, so I don't eat them now.'
Joey gets his slim frame from his mother Tina, who tragically committed suicide when he was only 10.
So what does he make of internet trolls saying he looks anorexic?
'I'm slim, but I wouldn't say I'm anorexic skinny,' he says.
'My mum was very skinny like this.
'She had the same tone as me. It's a family thing.'
