Lily Allen wasn't happy about the Tweet

An Army sniper who sent Lily Allen a racist message over Twitter has apologised for his actions.

Earlier this week, the singer received a Tweet that read: 'Just seen you bought s*** I meant adopted a child from Africa #hero.'

But now the man has contacted Lily, 27, to say sorry.

'I have just received some flowers and a hand written apology from [the Army sniper], which I accept. I hope we can all now move on. Thank you,' she's Tweeted.

Lily reported the sniper to the Ministry Of Defence after receiving the abusive message.

The MOD later launched an investigation and the user's Twitter profile was shut down.

'Racism of any kind is completely unacceptable and the Army has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of harassment and discrimination,' said an Army spokesman.

'We are aware of the alleged offensive comments and are investigating the matter. It would be inappropriate to comment further while this is on-going.'
