Professor Green has been forced to deny he's split with girlfriend Millie Mackintosh after he started a joke rumour that she'd left him for another woman.

The rapper, 28 - real name Stephen Manderson - thought it'd be funny to tell reporters that the Made In Chelsea star, 22, had begun a lesbian affair when he was quizzed about their relationship.

'publicist got an e mail from the daily star asking why me and millie had broken up. she replied saying it wasn't true... despite my best efforts to get her to tell them we had, and it was because millie was having a relationship with a bird behind me back,' Tweeted Professor Green.

'no, it isn't true that millie was seeing a bird behind my back, that's just what i wanted to tell the paper that asked if we'd broken up.'

Millie and Professor Green are currently on holiday together in Ibiza.

The rapper took steps to dispel the rumours earlier today by posting a photo of him with his smitten girlfriend looking cosy in a swimming pool.

'1. The bird wears hardly any makeup. 2. Your mum has sex with her dog. 3. Look how broken up we look,' he wrote alongside the picture.
