Kate Middleton married Prince William in April 2011

Kate Middleton joined senior members of the Royal Family in Edinburgh today for a ceremony to honour Prince William.

Thousands of people lined the city's Royal Mile to catch a glimpse of Kate as she made her way into St Giles' Cathedral, where William, 30, was made a Knight Of The Thistle.

Wills holds the official title of the Earl Of

Strathearn in Scotland, while Kate is the Countess Of Strathearn.

Kate, 30, chose a £1,200 Emilia Wickstead yellow coat dress for the ceremony, which she wore with a nude fascinator by Whiteley - an item she's worn several times before - and a pair of chocolate brown Emmy Shoes courts.

She carried a folded Strathearn tartan scarf in recognition of her new title.

Other members of the Royal Family in attendance were the Queen, Prince Philip and Princess Anne, who are all members of the Order Of The Thistle.

The Queen is the only person who can bring new people into the order, which is reserved for those who have held public office or have contributed a significant amount to national life.
