Niall Horan returned to the UK yesterday

Niall Horan has thanked One Direction fans for being the 'best in the world' on Twitter.

The Irish singer flew back to London from 1D's first headline tour of the US yesterday morning and was delighted to see an array of plaques - which commemorate the band's various successes - on display in his flat.

'Just got home! Some of my plaques are on the walls, this is what you guys do! Goosebumps!' Tweets Niall.

'unbelievable what you guys have done for us! When i walked up the stairs and seen all them ,first thing i thought was, #bestfansintheworld.'

Niall has been away in America with his band mates Louis Tomlinson, 20, Zayn Malik, 19, plus 18-year-olds Harry Styles and Liam Payne for over a month.

He's been looking forward to spending some time relaxing after his long stint on the road - and his collection of cuddly toys have been waiting for him.

'Cant wait t go home and watch jeremy kyle! #jezzayou'vebeenmissed,' Niall Tweeted yesterday.
