The Queen is to give Prince William the keys to a cottage on her 2,000-acre Sandringham Estate as a belated 30th birthday present.
William - who reached the milestone age last week - is said to be thrilled about the gift because he and wife Kate Middleton spent their first Christmas as a married couple on the Norfolk estate in December.
'A property is definitely being made available to William and Kate this year,' says a source.
'A plan is in place for William to have his own place on the estate.'
It's not yet known which property will become Wills', but one possibility is Wood Farm Cottage in Wolferton, where William and Kate have previously entertained friends and Prince Harry took ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
The cottage will be a romantic retreat for Kate and Wills as the paparazzi are forbidden from photographing the Royal Family at Sandringham.
'[William's] a country boy and loves Norfolk, just like his father and grandparents,' the source tells the Mail On Sunday.
'It's a lovely, peaceful place and William adores it.'
