Prince William: The night before my wedding to Kate, the excitement - and the singing crowds - kept me awake
The 29-year-old admits he was distracted by the crowds camping out on The Mall - the road that runs from Buckingham Palace.
'They were singing and cheering all night long, so with the excitement of that, the nervousness of me and everyone singing, I slept for about half an hour,' Wills tells Alan Titchmarsh in an interview to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Meanwhile, Kate, 30, spent her pre-wedding night at The Goring Hotel with her family.
She admitted at her final public engagement before her nuptials in April 2011 that she was feeling anxious.
'I asked her if she was nervous about her wedding,' said Asda worker Amanda Wood, 46.
'And she said: "Yes, of course I am." Then I told her she's beautiful.'
Wills' interview on Elizabeth: Queen, Wife and Mother will be shown on ITV1 next Friday.
