Canadian TV star, 32: I laughed when Harry Styles asked me out, I'm not sure it'd be legal
Harry Styles had an embarrassing moment in an LA restaurant when he was rejected for a date by a 32-year-old Canadian TV personality.
The 18-year-old One Direction singer plucked up the courage to ask out Jillian Harris - who starred in dating show The Bachelorette - but she felt the 14-year age gap was a little too big.
'We were seated just behind Harry's table,' says Jillian.
'When we got up to leave, he walked straight up to me and said he would like to take me out for dinner. I didn't what to say. I think I just laughed.
'Then he said he was playing a concert in Canada later this year. I told him that maybe my friend and I would like to come to the show. He said he would like that, then he asked for my phone number.
'I don't think I was rude. I just laughed and told him I was way too old for him.'
Jillian admits that she'd never heard of 1D before meeting Harry - who's now on a mini-tour of Australia and New Zealand with his band mates.
But even after finding out about the boys' success, she says she doesn't regret turning him down.
'Harry is cute and if I was 21, I would be all over him,' Jillian tells the Sunday Mirror.
'But I'm 32 and I just don't think that would be appropriate.
'I am sorry but I could never date an 18-year-old. I don't think that's even legal in the US, is it?'
