Oops! Capital FM miffed after Harry Styles thanks Radio 1 in Brit Awards blunder

Harry Styles thanked the wrong radio station

One Direction won Best British Single at the Brit Awards

Harry Styles appears to have got One Direction into trouble after making an embarrassing error during their Brit Awards acceptance speech last night.

Harry, 18, gave a 'massive thank you to Radio 1' on stage at the O2 Arena last night after the band won the gong for Best British Single - but the prize was actually voted for by Capital FM listeners and iTunes users.

Capital - part of the Global Radio network - were understandably miffed about the slip-up.

'One Direction as far as Capital are concerned are only going in one direction,' an industry source claims in the Guardian.

But not everybody was upset about Harry's gaffe.

During the ceremony, Radio 1 presenter Chris Moyles took to Twitter to joke about the incident.

'Best British single voted by listeners to Capital FM, One Direction. Harry Styles said "a massive thank you to Radio 1" HaHa Nice one!' Tweets Chris, 38.

A spokesman for Global Radio declined to comment.
