The 28-year-old singer says Harry, 18, and Caroline, 32 - who split in January after 3 months together - made a hot couple and would have produced a beautiful child.
'It's a shame they've split as they would have had lovely babies,' says Matt.
'Caroline is a lovely-looking girl and from what I hear Harry is a pretty-looking boy.'
But Matt - who beat Harry's band One Direction to become winner of the reality show 2 years ago - doesn't think the teen heartthrob should get too hung up on his ex.
He knows Harry can have his pick from thousands of girls.
'Now he's turned 18 I think he'll be an absolute nightmare, but then I would be if I was in his position,' Matt tells the Sunday Mirror.
'If we went out on a night together he'd probably snatch up everything in sight.'
