Natalie Cassidy has been photographed with ex-fiancé Adam Cottrell for the first time since he pleaded guilty to assaulting her in May.

Celebrity Big Brother star Natalie, 28, was snapped with Adam, 32, and their 2-year-old daughter Eliza heading towards the flat they once shared in Hertfordshire.

'Natalie and Adam are trying to put their troubles behind them and are getting on for the sake of their daughter,' says a friend.

'There have been some difficult times but things seem to be going well for them.'

The couple split after Adam admitted 'smearing Natalie with mascara and striking her with a slipper on the upper leg' at East Hertfordshire Magistrates' Court last year.

In a second incident, the transport manager 'grabbed her by the arms and ripped her top' before smashing wine glasses and a microwave.

Adam was under a 2-year restraining order which banned him from seeing the former EastEnders actress but it was lifted after he completed treatment for alcohol addiction.

'The restraining order against Adam has been lifted due to him seeking help for alcohol dependency,' Natalie's agent tells The People.

'As a result, Natalie and Adam are on civil terms.'
