Hair transplant fan Wayne Rooney sports a new dark 'do for night out with Coleen

Wayne Rooney stepped out with a new look for an evening at the theatre with wife Coleen on Wednesday.

The Manchester United star, who had a transplant to thicken his increasingly sparse locks in June last year, showed off a trendy hairstyle that looked far darker than his natural colour.

Wayne and Coleen, 25, were out to see Oliver! The Musical at Manchester's The Palace Theatre, with the footballer later getting up on stage with the show's stars.

'Me darron gibson and sir bobby with oliver cast. Great show loved it. Dodger was brilliant,' Tweeted Wayne alongside a photo of him standing behind the kids in the production.

The striker turned to Twitter last summer to justify his decision to have a hair transplant, which moves strong follicles from other areas to the front of the head.

'I was going bald at 25 why not. I'm delighted with the result,' Tweeted Wayne, now 26.

'It's still a bit bruised and swollen when it dies down u will be first to see it. Anyone recommend any good hair gel. Haha.'
