Keira Knightley has revealed how she prepared for her racy role in new film A Dangerous Method.

The actress, who plays a woman that gets a thrill from being spanked, sat down in front of a mirror for 2 days to work out her best sex faces before she showed director David Cronenberg.

'I got on Skype with David and went, "I've come up with this", or, "I've come up with this",' says Keira.

'And he went, "That one!"' 

Though at first Keira was hesitant about performing the X-rated spanking scenes, after a chat to David she soon realised they were an essential part of the role.

But the 26-year-old says she couldn't feel more different from her sado-masochistic character.

'It's simply not my thing,' Keira tells The Sun.

'There isn't anything that links me to this person in any way.'
