Nicola Roberts has been sticking up for her Girls Aloud band mate Cheryl Cole after she got involved in a Twitter battle with MC Harvey.

The So Solid Crew rapper has exclusively revealed to Now that he had a secret romance with Cheryl back in 2010 - but she's denying it.

'Was this "relationship" happening in your head @harveyofficial ?! Are you smoking something ?..' Tweeted Cheryl, 28, after reading our interview.

'..@harveyofficial I think I've met you once maybe twice at public events and With your wife !! #shitjustgetsweirder.'

Harvey, 32, told us he and Cheryl confided in each other after she had her heart broken by ex-husband Ashley Cole, 31.

He was quick to hit back at Cheryl's Tweet, threatening to make public some of the e-mails she'd sent him - but fiery Nicola was having none of it.

'Emails..?? I think someone's been having you on mate...' Tweeted Nicola, 26.

'#shedoesntdoemailsshedoesphonesex.'
