Chris Hughes has expressed his appreciation to the medical team that looked after wife Amanda Holden, who was left in a critical condition after the birth of their baby daughter Hollie Rose on Monday.
Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda had to undergo several blood transfusions to keep her alive during an emergency caesarean.
'Chris would like to thank all the medical staff and everyone who has been involved in Amanda's care,' says a spokesman for the 38-year-old record producer.
Amanda, 40, spent 3 days in intensive care at the West London hospital and is believed not to have met little Hollie until Wednesday evening, when she was considered stable by doctors.
She will miss the rest of the BGT auditions and may not even appear in April's live finals.
'We extend our congratulations to Amanda and Chris on the birth of Hollie and wish Amanda a speedy recovery,' says a rep for the show, who confirmed they're considering bringing in a new judge.
'We look forward to her returning to Britain's Got Talent very soon.'
