It's good news for all us Cumber-bitches: Benedict Cumberbatch, 35, has split from fashion designer Anna Jones.
His half-sister Tracy Peacock reveals: ‘You have to be pretty smart to keep up with him. I think that's why he has trouble with girlfriends.'
But Benedict has no trouble attracting women.
Since the TV series Sherlock hit our screens in the summer of 2010, he's been a babe magnet - with women all over the UK falling for his peculiar charms.
So why have we all got the hots for Holmes?
‘Looking at Sherlock and his track record with women, you'd think they'd run a mile,' says Benedict.
‘But weirdly a certain amount of harsh treatment excites people.
‘It's a bit of a "treat ‘em mean to keep ‘em keen" thing.'
Even when he's not playing the world's most famous detective, Benedict finds himself with a bevy of ladies following his every move.
During his time starring in Frankenstein at London's National Theatre in 2011, female fans would wait for him at his stage door.
‘There were an awful lot of people,' Benedict
tells TV Buzz. ‘It was 12 o'clock, I was tired and I was saying I've
really got to get home but there are people going, "We've travelled all
the way from South Korea!"
‘It was incredible.'
