Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid are soon to be parents

Just three weeks ago Chantelle Houghton was proudly raving about her baby bump and engagement ring on morning TV.

Yet it seems things between her and cross-dressing fiancé Alex Reid, 36, aren't quite as rosy as they would have us believe.

Now's learnt that the pair's nine-month relationship is under serious strain after a series of huge rows.

Things reached breaking point last week when Chantelle, 28, went so far as to remove her engagement ring.

An onlooker tells us: ‘Chantelle left her house last Tuesday looking really upset. She stormed out and got into her car.'

Their spokesman insists all is fine. He says: ‘They're very much looking forward to the birth of their baby.'
