Pregnant Chantelle Houghton: The doctor told me and Alex Reid when to have sex

Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid got engaged in October after almost 8 months together

Chantelle Houghton says she and fiancé Alex Reid did all they could to make a baby naturally.

The Celebrity Big Brother star, who revealed in July that she had a low egg count and feared she was infertile, found out she was expecting just days before she was due to start a course of IVF treatment.

'(The doctor) advised that even though there was a really slim chance, there was an optimum time in which I could fall pregnant and we took her advice,' says Chantelle, 28.

'She told us when to have sex.'

Chantelle has her theories as to how she and Alex, 36, managed to conceive despite her medical problems and the chances being so slight.

'I think because I knew everything was going to be OK, because we were going for IVF and the tension and the stress were released out of me, my body relaxed as well,' says Chantelle.

'Maybe because we weren't just having sex to get pregnant any more. But who knows?'
