TV funny man Justin Lee Collins has been charged with harassing an ex-girlfriend.

The 37-year-old Sunday Night Project star allegedly caused 'fear of violence' in his former partner.

'Police can confirm that Justin Lee-Collins, from London, has been charged at Watford police station with Section 4 harassment (causing fear of violence),' reads a Hertfordshire Police statement.

Justin - who is currently starring in West End music Rock Of Ages with Shayne Ward - has denied the accusation.

'He is unable to comment on the circumstances and the events to which
the charge relate because of the proceedings, but he is confident that
he will prove his innocence,' a spokeswoman tells the BBC.

Justin has been released on bail to appear at St Albans Magistrates' Court on 22 December.

The comedian is dad to two sons with former wife Karen, who he separated from in 2010.
