Is RAF pilot Prince William in danger of losing his job?

Prince William's future career is in doubt

Prince William's job as an RAF Sea King co-pilot could be in danger after it was announced that civilians will carry out search and rescue missions in future.

Transport secretary Justine Greening says the RAF and Royal Navy will be able to instead concentrate on frontline missions when the MoD retires its fleet of Sea Kings in 2016.

Wills, 29, is due to finish his post at RAF Valley in Anglesey in 2013, but was then rumoured to be planning a move to Scotland's RAF Lossiemouth. 

The news comes a day after Wills' rescue team was praised for their 'outstanding work' when they rescued 2 Russian soldiers off the coast of Wales's Llyn Peninsula.  

One body was recovered but the search continues for the other 5 sailors, who were part of an 8-man Russian crew that fell into trouble after their cargo vessel was sunk by a huge wave.
