Maggie Gyllenhaal is to become a mum for the second time. 

The Dark Knight star and actor partner Peter Sarsgaard, 40, who married in 2009, are already parents to 5-year-old Ramona.

'Yes, she and her husband are expecting,' Maggie's publicist confirms to E! News.

Maggie's brother Jake Gyllenhaal was flooded with Tweets of support for the 34-year-old actress when the news of her pregnancy broke. 

'Thanks for nice messages to @MaggieSarsgaard I shall pass on your love,' posted Jake, 30.
