Cheryl Cole's pulled out of two public events in the past two weeks and disappointed her bandmate Kimberley Walsh by failing to turn up to her 30th birthday party, prompting friends to worry about her fragile state.
So what's really going on with Cheryl?
The 28-year-old alarmed fans when she pulled out of the recent Children In Need Rocks gig in Manchester at the last minute, telling fans she had pharyngitis.
And it isn't the first time she's been struck down with an illness that's stopped her fulfilling work commitments, following battles with malaria and bronchitis.
Last week, while tucked up at home in north London with only DVDs for comfort, she confided in friends that she's reached her lowest ebb.
‘She's really struggling. She's feeling lower than she has for a long time,' a source tells Now.
